On the May Day Bank Holiday this year we had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Daniel and Rebecca.
Their ceremony took place at St. Martins Church in Caerphilly with the reception at the beautiful De Courceys Manor just outside Cardiff.
The bridal prep took place at Rebecca’s parents’ home in Caerphilly where she was getting ready with her two bridesmaids. The dress was a cream lace princess cut with capped sleeves and short train. Her colour scheme was Royal Blue and the flowers were blue orchids and cream roses in a hand tied bouquet.
Paul spent the morning with the groom and his family getting ready at their home in Cardiff for the grooms prep photographs. As it was a bank holiday Monday traffic was busier than usual which made the groom a little late getting to the church, luckily Paul and I were in constant contact so Rebecca and her Dad didn’t leave until after Daniel and his best man had arrived at the church.
The Church of St Martins is a stunning ceremony venue with beautiful stained glass windows pouring their light over the congregation. Whilst the couple were signing the register, Rebecca’s Brownie and Rainbow pack serenaded the congregation and after the ceremony they formed a guard of honour blowing bubbles for the couple as they left the church.
After the group photographs were taken on the steps of the church we then took the couple into the church grounds for some couple pics and then we moved to De Courceys Manor for the large group photograph and some more couple pics in the gorgeous grounds. De Courceys have a couple of beautifully lit wrought iron pergola’s which are perfect for sunset and night photographs.
Whilst the wedding breakfast was on there was a tremendous rain storm, we had been very lucky with the weather until that point, but by the time the meal and speeches was finished the skies were clear so we popped back out to the main Pergola for some evening pics. There are also many beautiful rooms within the venue so we took advantage of those for some lovely window images with the couple.
The cake appeared very traditional on first viewing until you saw the rear which was decorated in a super hero theme of which the couple are both fans.
Our day finished with Rebecca and Daniels first dance which was to “What are Words” by the Piano Guys.
Congratulations to you both and thank you for letting us be a part of your special day.
